"I feel that if we, in public television, only make it clear that feelings are mentionable and manageable, we will have done a great service for mental health."
Bravo! I had no idea Mr. Rogers did something like this. I remember watching his show when I was little and, well, shows today just don't shine compared to his. He really did care about child development and teaching healthy ways to learn. Its very cool that he helped push forward educational shows versus the "bombardment of cartoons."
Wow! Mr. Rogers was amazing. I think that his passion for healthy childhood development is something that we need now, more than ever in this country. I know that my five year-old brother and six year-old nephew would really benefit from that little song he sang at the end. I think the only thing they watch are cartoons about superhero's who kill the bad guy. That's what they always seem to be playing, so they've got to get it from somewhere. A little Mr. Rogers would do them some good... It would even do me good, too!
